At the end of book 4, Durkon was shown researching a new spell, which is not something he would’ve done before. So that’s a little bit of growth. It’s true, though, that he’s the most static character of the group. ---

My favorite Durkon therory, from the OOTS forum, is that he’ll come home as a zombie, thus fulfilling two prophecies with one stone. ---

And this is not just my opinion as a reader; Rich Burlew has said this also. ---

Never watched _TMNT_, but he looks like he’s dressed as Westley.\* What is that critter what can shoot lightning out his mouth? \*ETA: Y’know, 'cos of the mask also being a do-rag. I don’t recall seeing pics of the turtles with their masks covering the tops of their heads. ---

My guess is they are a new faction. And since they entered seeming evil, they are probably working for the good guys protecting something. ---
