> After all, that’s valuable time we could spend talking about a vampire tyrannosaurus.

Well, that’s the logical progression, isn’t it, since we’ve determined the tyrannosaur can’t finish off the vampire? The vampire can recover in a day, and the tyrannosaur can’t. All it takes is a stubborn vamp who _really_ wants a T-Rex thrall. If he can put up with a few nights of ignominious exits, he should be able to drain the dinosaur.

Fun point: Adding the vampire template to a tyrannosaur would give it an intelligence of 4–sufficient for it to learn a language. It also increases the critter’s already substantial Wisdom to 17. Together, this suggests to me that you could have a vampire tyrannosaur cleric, though it would have an awfully hard time earning xp. Oh, and it should be able use its Children of the Night ability to call raptors in place of wolves, because this is the internet.

The downside? I think we’re gonna need a bigger coffin.

Hmm, an Endless Decanter, scribed with some holy symbols and blessed by a high level cleric? It’s the anti-undead watering hose!

I’ve seen that used in a comic book once (although not with a T-Rex). I won’t name the book for fear of spoiling it, but it was surprisingly effective.

And, of course, a _T. Rex_ vampire can _spider climb_ - which would be a sight worth seeing.

So, on the one hand, the rules lawyer in me is compelled to point out that the vampire template can only be applied to humanoid or monstrous humanoid creatures.

The GM in me, on the other hand, is currently running a jungle campaign that has already introduced both vampires and dinosaurs…

The strip has already broken that barrier. The Order has fought a vampire snail.

I think referring to that encounter as a “fight” is being over-generous, to say the least.

The vampire tyrannosaur cleric is a key figure in the religion of the local not-Aztecs, explaining the prominence of blood sacrifice in their rituals. Also, he probably has feathers.

Go on, do it. You know you wanna. 😃

Well, if you can buy a vampire lizard folk, then a vampire dinosaur pretty much follows. Although draining a dinosaur of blood (apparently a precursor of the vampirization process) might take a significant effort.

Get ten vampires on it. They can race to see who got the last drop out and wins a dinosaur thrall.

Ha, now I have this image of a roomful of vampires all looking like that girl Violet Beauregarde from _Charlie and the Chocolate Factory_, who turned blue and inflated into a sphere. With thralls rolling them around singing like Oompa Loompas.

So do I read the d20 site correctly that Durkon would be in deep trouble if he crossed through the gate and ended up in the water? Hmm, maybe that’s what Chekov’s Coffin is for – to use as a boat on the other side.

A vampire in an operating jacuzzi is toast, but switch off the pump and they’re fine? Huh, weird rules. But I guess we knew that. 😉

ETA: how can the ocean not be “running”? Hello, tides?
