I was almost certain the sword would get caught in a vamp, and then teleported away, leaving Roy impotent in the extreme. Of course, “Roy loses his sword” has been done before, so I suppose it wouldn’t have narratively made sense. ---

I note that we got a new comic for three Mondays in a row. Please let this be a trend. On the topic of the story, I’d like to hope that Belkar will enter, dust Morningstar chick, and take his punishment like a man – errr, sexy, shoeless god of war. Of course, knowing Burlew, even if that did happen, Belkar would probably go down fighting and take out Loki’s high priest, restoring the need for the tie-breaker. ---

Not sure why he would be \*punished \*for it. He’s the official bodyguard to the office of HPOH. When the office was transferred, so was the bodyguard. At least they can make that case, no rules against it. He’s still HPOH’s bodyguard, with the rules allowing him to attack his own client. And nobody else can intervene. ---

Well, the other clerics might not see it that way (it’s been demonstrated that their collective WIS score isn’t that high). As far as I know, Belkar’s not even aware that attacking the HP of somebody else’s god carries the death penalty. And since it’s the solstice, the year is about to end, which means his exit music is about to play. ---

Wait, you have to **smash** that transportation-globe to use it? Which means you can only use it once . . . so the vampires have to find all the dwarven elders gathered in one place to make this work. ---

By the rules, Belkar, as bodyguard to the High Priest of Hel, is probably allowed to attack her. But do the other clerics know that he’s a bodyguard? They’ve only met Roy. The only other people who know Belkar’s status are all stoners, and they ain’t telling. ---

Anyone else notice the three bogus incantations Blackwing says? **Abra candelabra** - not cadabra … cute **Frippity fruppity frooj** - the kind of incantation the Wizard of Id makes, probably a homage **Pottericus mimickus** - almost as good as “stoppus badguyus” ---
