It’s definitely a shout-out to the forum-goers, even if the names weren’t drawn directly from there. There have been a ton of names proposed for That Vampire, and none of them has really caught on (in fact, I was kind of hoping that Roy would officially pick some name, to resolve the disputes). The call-out to the forums is also marked by the perspective of that panel, with all of the characters looking straight forward at the audience. ---

While I’m thinking about it: if anyone does what I do and zooms in on the comic to make the text about normal website sized,[here’s a silly little GreaseMonkey/TamperMonkey script](https://openuserjs.org/scripts/BigTSDMB/ScrollRight) that scrolls the page all the way to the right automatically. Note, it doesn’t come with any sites set up, so you’ll have to go into the script Options and add “_[giantitp.com/comics/](http://giantitp.com/comics/)_” to the list of included sites. ---

Too easy to confuse with the name without the asterisk. I kind of like Nega-Dwarf. That has a real comic-book-villain-ish ring to it. ---
