Because of COURSE Durkon knows exactly who that is from that description and knows he’s fallen behind on some relationship status. This is a man who takes family very seriously. ---

You suppose the mystery dwarf talks like that all the time? Or just while his eyes are glowing and he’s wielding his celestial light saber? “YeS I wOuLd LiKe MoRe WafFlEs, PlEaSe!!” Close enough approximation without getting obnoxious with board colors and fonts ---

An appearance by “Loki? Who’s Loki? No, I’m, um, Bob! Bob the Dwarf!” seems the most likely without a whole new character being created, plus we’ve got the wonky “chaotic” font and horned helmet. The question is, if it’s Loki, whether anybeing who matters would be fooled by such a transparent subterfuge. Mind you, Hel’s already gotten directly involved in this fight so who knows what the rules are… ETA: Although the other dwarves seem to know who this is… ---

Loki’s already meddling by steering Hilgya to the Order. I really doubt he’s going to send some literal avatar to directly oppose Hel. ---

How does Durkon know that’s _not_ Thad? He’s been keeping up with the family via Sending spells, which only give words, and not very many of them. Oh, and kudos to the Giant for a relationship-chain that doesn’t trivially simplify. Usually, people end up saying things like “cousin’s brother” or “brother’s uncle”. And I don’t see how an ally with a weird glowy sword who can one-shot greater elementals can be just a one-off joke character. But on the other hand, he’s tough to figure out as a D&D character: Someone wielding a sword made out of magic is probably either a soulknife or an incarnate, and I can’t see him bringing either of those classes into the main strip as anything but a punchline about how weak they are. ---

If it was a normal speech balloon, ok, just another weird family member. The speech balloon, and the power of the character (though note, he’s running away from the LDW, after shaking Durkon’s hand) makes me wonder what else is going on. The letters in the balloon look similar to, but obviously aren’t, the runes in the lobster thing’ balloon that Greg summoned in the pyramid. LOL, if it was a shape changed Celia, after a few levels of adventuring. ---

The guy actually didn’t one-shot the elemental; more like just finished it off. That elemental had already taken hits from three or four dwarves plus the Flamestrike from Hilgya. ---

Obviously a Force Awakens reference, with the helmet and crossed ‘lightsaber’. But I don’t get it at all. ETA: his look kind of says “paladin” to me: blue accents theme, cape. ---

He reminds me a bit of the two powerful characters Durkon brought to the party, to be rejected sight unseen by Roy in favor of the other members of the Order-to-be, in\* On the Origin of PCs.\* In other words, a generic high-level character. There are plenty of them in the Stickworld, all busy with their own adventures.
