Dawwwwww! It’s a very heartwarming series of strips, seeing Durkon and Sigdi’s family all come together like this. The bard lines and joke at the end were great too. Neat use of the Wall spell, and I love the support pillars for it. I wonder what V’s shooting at the LDW? ---

Some sort of fireball, I’d bet. Looks like Roy is having a rough time of it, though. I don’t know a lot about fighting giant monsters, but I’m pretty certain that being in its mouth isn’t a recommended approach. ---

That’s going to sting, given how many of the Order are in melee with the thing. Maybe it’s Sunburst? Doubt it would get through the worm’s spell resistance, but worth trying. Maybe Roy’s trying to Spellsplinter the worm, and since we’ve seen it cast from the head and mouth… Nah, he’s probably getting eaten. At least Durkon knows to help him this time. Unless Durkon dashes into the Elders’ Chamber too? Surprised the worm hasn’t poisoned anyone with its tail yet. Burlew hasn’t had the worm fight all that well, really. Which is fine, I’m cool with them getting through this as quickly as possible. ---

If it’s made a grapple check things get nasty - once swallowed Roy can’t use his big sword. The Nightcrawler grapples at +45. Roy grapples at +23 (BAB + Str mod). So the Nightcrawler needs to roll a 1. Hey, he did it to the guard back in the gladiator arena, he can do it to some slimy worm… BTW, someone on the other forum pointed out that the dwarves are bypassing the Worm’s instructions on who to fight. The instructions were to defend the platform area and prevent anyone except the vampires and their thralls from going through the door. ---

I think that the worm is smart enough to understand and follow the spirit of its orders, rather than the strict letter. ---

The worm is smart, but we’ve already seen that he’s very literal and pedantic. I think he will ignore the dwarves who are neither on the platform not going through the door. ---

[Nightcrawlers](http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/nightshade.htm#nightcrawler) are always chaotic. The only reason they wouldn’t follow the spirit of their orders would be if they weren’t following orders at all. But assuming that its orders are in accord with what it would want to do anyway, it won’t care about the strict literal wording. ---

I have a hypothesis about what’s going to happen when all the Dwarves get into the Council of Clans. They’ll try to persuade some of the Dominated Councillors to vote “No” and fail. Possibly one of the clerics gets turned to stone attempting to Dispel Magic on them. But the Dominated Councillors are a bare majority. A single additional no-vote would result in a tie. So Sigdi’s family create a new Clan on the spot, with Sigdi as its head. She then votes “No” and they go to the tie-breaking rules. At which point, I run out of ideas. So it’s basically the same as the Godsmoot, except the good guys are loopholing the rules this time. PS Dominated Councillors would be a good band name. ---

1. I was wondering if the dwarf who saved her from falling was the same one she saved from falling all those years ago, but the answer appears to be no. I suppose that would have been too much of a coincidence. 2. Did Durkon heal or restore himself in panel 6, or was that an effect of his magic items? He just glows for no apparent reason. 3. That there was some high-quality dick-themed insult-slinging. 4. Dwarves are weird. But, given what we know, perhaps not that weird. ---
