I don’t understand what the significance is of pushing Nale into the abyss, or how it’s going to help the baddies ---

It’s not “the abyss”, it’s the Abyss, the demon home planes. Why they’re shoving a Lawful Evil character into the Chaotic Evil nexus, we don’t know yet. ---

Some sort of time dilation effect? Maybe there’s a level of the Abyss where time passes much faster, allowing Elan to undergo millennia of torture and demon ascension, while only hours pass on the Material Plane. ---

So, you have to enter the Abyss by falling. You cant fly down, or climb down, or be lowered. You have to fall. If you’re asking why he’s going there at all, then I’m sure we’ll find out next strip. ---

They did say the Elon would become a lesser devil (LE) as opposed to demon (CE), though the latter live in the abyss. I googled lesser devil and found this on reddit: > Lesser Devils 2. Imp: Spies, willing servants of mortals. 3. Spined Devil: Messengers and spies for greater devils and archdevils, flying artillery. 4. Bearded Devil: Violent shock troops. 5. Barbed Devil: Guards who are very alert. 6. Chain Devil: Sadistic jailers and torturers. 7. Bone Devil: Cruel taskmaster of devils beneath them. I’m guessing door number 4 in appearance, more like number 7 in personality. ---

I see [spined devils](https://www.aidedd.org/dnd/monstres.php?vo=spined-devil) have wings. Maybe that could work with sufficient magical tools. Or maybe they will cutoff _Nale_’s spines. ---
