B. And I noticed that this “hilt” is pretty bumpy. Maybe there’s some fiend somewhere with strange hands that fit this hilt. Or maybe this thing is part of the mechanism that extracts whatever it is they extract from souls. ---

Man, that’s really a bum deal they’re offering, if you read it with a fine-toothed comb (as is always appropriate for an infernal contract). The reward for success isn’t “you will take my place as an archdevil”, it’s “you could”. As could any other devil of lower rank… if you can outcompete all of the others. And the answer to “will you punish me?” is “there would be no benefit to that”. Which doesn’t answer the question. They’re Evil with a capital E; punishing people even when there’s no benefit to it is something they do routinely. I also wonder if Sabine is deliberately distracting from all of the other gotchas in the contract with the penis thing. I mean, yes, she loves Nale… but she’s also very devoted to her job, and she’s also Evil with a capital E. ---

The penis punchline is hilarious. But what I liked is how this strip shows the limits on Nale’s personal growth. He no longer wants to be evil to spite his father - but he still wants to be evil for its own sake. ---
