# Origin of Jeep

Aside from the reasons cited by Cecil for the name not being associated with GP, it is unlikely that macho soldiers and motor pool mechanics would risk the usage of the (perhaps somewhat effeminate) “Jeepie” in nick-naming their vehicles.
