# Original Cape Fear on TV right now

Finally. Not that the remake is not good, but it is not as good as the [original](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cape_Fear_%281962_film%29). Robert Mitchum plays one hell of a good heavy. Although I think his best performance ever was as Harry Powell in [Night of the Hunter](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Night_of_the_Hunter_%28film%29).

That was one of my favorite films as a kid and I watched it on TV every time it came on. I was a weird kid. I’d love to see it once on the big screen.

I’ve never seen the remake.

I love this movie. It’s one of the few movies I have to sit and watch to completion if I find it while channel surfing. (Coincidentally, **The Night of the Hunter** is one of those, too!)

Mike Patton’s band Fantomas did a great [cover](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8uKLc41rFM) (pardon the off-topic images :))of the theme music.

One of my favorites. Although, I thought Deniro was much creepier as Max Cady, than Mitchum.  
OTOH, Nick Nolte couldn’t hold a candle to Gregory Peck.
