[QUOTE=kambuckta] I admitted I was inept at looking after a bonsai…what do you want me to do now? Self-flagellate with the little dried-out branches?? 😃 [/QUOTE] That image is making me giggle. ---

Have you searched [ThinkGeek](http://www.thinkgeek.com/)? There are all kinds of goofy geeky gifts there. There are too many [toys](http://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/) there that I want myself to list, not to mention geeky [fashion accesories](http://www.thinkgeek.com/apparel/jewelry/7ae3/). ---

Last year, I got my little cousin a [plush Nyarlethotep doll,](http://paizo.com/store/toys/plushes/cthulhu/v5748btpy7ve3) wrapped in a [classic-style gift box.](http://www.imajlar.com/free_clipart/christmas_clipart/christmas_clipart_gift.gif) I also did some shopping at [The Bone Room](http://www.boneroom.com/), for said cousin and my grandfather. (Relax, I just got 'em [fossil castings.](http://www.boneroom.com/casts/fossilcasts.html) And some bug candy.) I also built my uncle a [model of the Aerial Steam Carriage.](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aerial_Steam_Carriage) It had about a three-foot wingspan. This year—well, I did some shopping at [Unitednuclear.com](http://www.unitednuclear.com/). Your sister might like something from [Archie McPhee](http://www.mcphee.com/). It has nothing anyone NEEDS, but plenty that people would enjoy. ---

Most of the adults I know would need supervision while using that thing. [Previous page](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/original-christmas-gift-ideas/383476.md?page=1)
