Only the one-eyed man can make peace. It means only the person on the receiving end of violence can make the decision to break the cycle and hold back from taking another person’s eye in retribution. Whatever caused the loss of the eye in the first place, whether it was malice or accident, doesn’t really matter. Taking an eye from someone else in retribution or seeing “justice” will leave the whole world blind. The one-eyed man must decide to forgive their injury and stay their hand from seeking an eye from someone else in return. Enjoy, Steven ---

While everyone should have basic human empathy, you cannot allow yourself to be equally upset over every single tragedy that you learn about. If everything matters that’s the same as nothing mattering. ---
