Well, apparently she doesn’t have a Westlaw account because _she_ never cites any, so that is a bit unfair.

I like this smackdown in the first ruling.

Hey bitch, how come you know something that all the other candidates didn’t (or knew but didn’t take advantage of) and that the saner members of Congress don’t? Delusions of grandeur much?

But she has AOL polls to cite. Surely they count for a…well, a LOT!

Next week on _Dirty Jobs_: Realtor/Dentist/Attorney/Whackjob Oily Titz calls on her Facebook friend list to file _amicus curiae_ briefs.

None of her friends could spell or pronounce that.

(actually, I couldn’t spell or pronounce that, but I’m not an ironic Facebook friend of hers)

Having read these two decisions, I can say I haven’t been this entertained since John Jones’ ruling in the _Kitzmiller_ intelligent design case.

I am impressed.

I don’t think even Mike Rowe would brave muck _that_ nasty.

And the heck of it is, Orly and her supporters are treating this like a victory. “Since the judge imposed Rule 11 sanctions on her, now she gets discovery to defend against her sanctions! They _have_ to produce his real birth certificate now!”

The irony of this thread is that I’m reading it while in a required continuing legal education class on Federal Practice (a day full of 8 hours of video-taped lecture…fun!).

The biggest distinction between State and Federal courts is that Federal judges tend to take a very active role in the litigation, tending to hold the parties to strict deadlines, and tending to resolve issues and issue rulings without much pre-emption of the parties.

Lots of nonsense gets tolerated in state courts simply because the judges often leave it to the parties to bring issues to the courts’ attention. I’ve never practiced in Federal court, but those who have done both tells me it is so refreshing to have involved, attentive judges helping move the case along.

Lots of crazy shit gets filed in courts. But, if you have any hope of success, the last place your going to get it is at the Federal level. She was practically begging for a verbal tongue lashing.
