I think this will be huge. Obama gave the order to go in directly. US special forces in concert with Pakistani support went in and killed him. Ballsy call by Obama…can you imagine the political fallout if they had fucked up?? And as for Osama…I’m glad he’s gone and think it will be a lot more significant than jaded 'dopers seem to think it will be based on most of the posts I’m seeing here. -XT ---

He was certainly a powerful symbol though, and controlled a good portion of the cash. You don’t have to be the one making the decisions to be an important figure. I’m not going to give him all that much credit, as the gutsy call was Obama’s, but it’s ridiculous to say Bush did nothing to try and get Osama. -XT ---
