Well I’m glad that the reward will be going to some poor Joe that could use the money. (that’s what he seems like from the article.) But if I had found the oscars, I would have kept at least one for myself. Of course, maybe he did! The [LA Times](http://www.calendarlive.com/movies/oscar/lat_foundoscars000320.htm) today said that only 52 out of 55 were recovered. ---

Why would you keep one? So you could point out to your friends that you had some stolen property? If you like the statue you should be able to buy a copy. ---

No, I would keep one so that when I’m old and I tell my friends a tall tale involving me winning an Academy Award in my youth, and they call me a liar, I can pull out the statue and say “So how do you explain **this**?” ---

Perhaps they’ll give the guy an honorary award. Hell, they gave one to Elia Kazan and he’s a stoolie. At the very least the Academy should invite him to the ceremony. ---
