# Oscar-Winning action figures?

Well, it’s a simple, if weird, question…how many Academy Award winning actors and actresses have action figures modeled after them (Or, more accurately, character’s they’ve played)? I started thinking about this the other day when I realized that the “X-Men” movie’s series of figures included TWO academy award winners (Halle Berry, and Anna Paquin). Can anyone else think of any others?

Alec Guiness has been immortalized in a number of Obi-Wan Kenobi figures; he’s won an Oscar for _Bridge Over the River Kwai_, among other things.

Can we expand “action figures” to any kind of doll? Then add Clark Gable, Vivien Leigh, Thomas Mitchell, Hattie McDaniel, and Olivia de Havilland from _Gone With the Wind_; and Gary Cooper and Grace Kelly from _High Noon_.

Quentin Tarantino doesn’t have an acting award, but he does have a 1994 Oscar for Best Original Screenplay, and he is available as an action figure in the _Reservoir Dogs_ line.
Robert Forster didn’t win, but was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for _Jackie Brown_. He is available as an action figure from the _Black Hole_ movie, seen [here](http://www.toymania.com/334archives/black/holland.htm).
Warren Beatty (Best Director, 1981) and Al Pacino (Best Actor, 1992) are both available as part of the _Dick Tracy_ line, as [Dick Tracy](http://www.collectorman.com/images/N001.jpg) and [Big Boy Caprice](http://www.collectorman.com/images/N007.jpg), respectively. Come to think of it, so is Dustin Hoffman (Best Actor, 1988 & 1979) as [Mumbles](http://www.collectorman.com/images/N009.jpg).
The Alec Guinness/Obi-Wan Kenobi figure is notable because Guinness was actually nominated for an Oscar for that role as well. (He lost, to Jason Robards, I believe.)
William Hurt (Best Actor, 1985) is an action figure for the _Lost In Space_ movie, but I’ll be damned if I can find a picture anywhere.
F. Murray Abraham (Best Actor, 1984) has a figure in the _[Star Trek](http://www.tvdays.com/ruafo9b.htm)_ line. So does [Whoopi Goldberg](http://www.unc.edu/~lbrooks2/guinan.jpg) (Best Supporting Actress, 1991).
Tommy Lee Jones (Best Supporting Actor, 1994) has action figures from two different movies: [Batman Forever](http://www.geocities.com/batman_forever_toys/villains/two_face_moc_tn.jpg) and [Men In Black](http://www.sonystyle.com/images/180x180/shots/jetpackkay.jpg).

Angelina Jolie - (Best Supporting, for Girl, Interrupted 2000) has several Tomb Raider figures.
If Hopper counts for Kevin Spacey, then Robin Williams (Good Will Hunting 1998) has a Genie figure. (Maybe Jumanji, too, I’m not sure). And Jeremy Irons has Scar figures.
Were there figures for Superman, the Movie? If so: Gene Hackman.
Sean Connery has a (mini) Henry Jones Sr. Figure.
Mary Steenburgen might have a Back to the Future figure, I’m not sure.
Christopher Walken’s got a Sleepy Hollow figure, I think.
Louise Fletcher has a Star Trek figure.

Kim Basinger - There might be a figure of her as Vicky Vale from Batman 1.
Is there a figure or a doll of her as the Veronioca Lake look-alike from LA Confidential.
Was there any figures out for Gladiator, either Russell Crowe as the General Maximus or the Gladiator Maximus. If so, I wouldn’t mind having Russell Crowe in a Toga, or Armor.

Kevin Costner had a Robin Hood figure as well as Morgan Freeman.
Peter Cushing (dunno if he was a winner for sure) has a Star Wars figure.
Sigorney Weaver had an Aliens figure (“Aliens War” if you want to get technical)
There’s a couple more I’m sure, but I cant think of them right now. Were there any oscar winners in the movie Dune? They had action figures for that movie.
