# Ostentatious Book Titles

This, IMO, is akin to asking the waiter what the special of the day is, and instead of “macaroni and cheese”, being informed the special is Amish egg noodles in a gruyere and Vermont cheddar sauce topped with crushed whole-wheat garlic croutons.

Or better still . . . I recall a one-panel cartoon once. Waiter smirking/gloating, taking the cover off a dish at a customer’s table: “It’s a fried telephone book! We gave it a fancy French name and you ordered it!”
