I have two degrees in music (BM, MM), and in CT there’s a 2 year part time degree program that would allow me to become certified to teach in a public school K-12. Becoming a school teacher would also wipe out my menacingly large debt.

But I don’t live in CT anymore. I live in NYC, and I don’t know whether or not there’s a comparable program in my state. Google is failing me, and I know that there are a number of school teachers among the Teeming Millions; I was hoping someone out there on the interwebs might have an idea.

I’m not a teacher, and I’m not from New York, but here’s a list of the types of programs you are looking for: [http://www.teach-now.org/](http://www.teach-now.org/). Just choose New York in the dropdown.

Thank you. It seems like I have several options available to me, and there’s a contact for me to ask all my additional questions.
