Anne Hathaway and James Franco? Shouldn’t the Oscars be rolling out the real, classic Hollywood variety show talent, not “fresh-faced newcomers” who I am sure have some sort of “project” being released around that time. ---

I don’t have an opinion on Anne Hatheway but I want James Franco to be in all the things, and I’ll look forward to seeing him. Why shouldn’t he host? He’s handsome, charming, charismatic, funny, handsome, and did I mention he’s beautiful? Because he is. ---

Doesn’t Franco have a good chance at a nomination for Best Actor for his work in **127 Hours**? It would seem odd to have in host in such a case. ---

Don’t forget Lionel Richie’s hosting of the Grammys, where he won, like, 5 of them, and tried to jam the word “Outrageous!” into the country’s lingo. ---

I’ve been hearing he’s a lock for a nod, and has a good chance of winning, though Jeff Bridges in \*True Grit \*and Colin Firth in \*The King’s Speech \*are right there with him at the top of the actor category. ---

They seem kind of… dull. I mean, they’re both good actors, but they’re not legendary or anything. Neither are known as the song-and-dance type (although Hathaway did a good job in that skit with Hugh Jackman at the Oscars a while back, which I guess is why she got the nod this time). I’d rather see Jackman again, or Steve Martin or even Billy Crystal! Heck bring back Jon Stewart. At least those guys are interesting. If you want younger faces, get some comedians (Jimmy Kimmel? Sarah Silverman?) who are used to live audiences, not movie celebrities. ---

It’s a weird choice, to say the least. I think Hugh Jackman should host it again. He was great. Or…Neil Patrick Harris. ---
