Ever since we said goodbye to Ozzy on Tuesday, I’ve had a modified line from the absolute schmaltziest song in the world (okay, the second: “Havin’ My Baby” is number one) running through my head. So I finally bowed to the inevitable and wrote my lyrics to it. Warning: sad and sappy **Watchin’ Ozzy Grow** (Music: Mac Davis / Lyrics: Me) Tiny baby creepin’ on the rug Chasin’ Uncle Bug That’s our boy. Ozz and Tenshi, close as they can be Little Mini-Me That’s our boy. Bouncin’ off the walls and ridin’ shoulders Drive-by wufflin’ noses on the go Our Nutro-Burning Funny Kitten makes himself at home And me and Dad are watchin’ Ozzy grow. Sleepin’ in a sunbeam on the bed Snuggled up with Fred That’s our boy. Sittin’ anywhere to warm his butt He’s a little nut That’s our boy. Snuggling’s what he loves to do, wherever Built for comfort, not for speed, he’s lyin’ low But he’s still workin’ things all out behind those big green eyes And me and Dad are watching Ozzy grow. Time goes on and Ozzy’s slowin’ down A more thoughtful clown That’s our boy. Sittin’ in the sink and gettin’ high Our stoner guy That’s our boy. Even though we have to let him leave us, We’re never truly gonna let him go. As we share with him his final great adventure, We’re glad that we could watch our Ozzy grow. _Ozymandias C. Nosewuffle 10/31/02 - 11/22/16_ Uncle Bug was the older Burmese cat owned by the breeder when we first met Ozzy at four weeks old. He was kind of the kittens’ “nanny.” Tenshi was our other Singapura, who we lost this past March. Fred is Sonata, one of our Russian Blue girls. And Ozzy wasn’t really a stoner–he just acted like one. And he loved catnip. 🙂 ---

That’s so sweet, **Infovore**. I’m so sorry about Ozzy, and your other kitties. I’ve found when I lose one, it brings back memories of the ones I lost before them. Such a difficult time. Hugs. ---
