Sadly, this has become the norm, thanks to You Know Who. If you don’t really have any good ideas, you do attack ads, and everything that comes out of a congress person’s mouth is an ad in one way or the other. Negative political ads work, but only w/ a certain part of the population. It’s easier to be against something than it is to be for something, you leave yourself open on the latter. ---

I’ve ordered the same thing as my wife before. If there’s something on the menu we both really want, why wouldn’t we?! Do people suggest you get two different dishes, one you both really want and another you don’t want as much, just for variety? Is that the only socially acceptable situation? ---

We entertained out-of-town relatives last weekend. One evening, we all ate at a really lovely local restaurant. My wife and I sat at opposite ends of the table. Mid-meal, we learned that she and I had serendipitously ordered the same appetizer _and_ entree. We are, of course, not speaking at this point. /s ---

One of the local restaurants that is reasonably priced cooks Chinese food for Take-Out. They make great Double-Cooked Pork and it goes well on top of their Cold Sesame Noodles. ( If you need an appetizer, they also make great boiled pork dumplings ). Order two of the same? No problem! (But after dinner write the name of the person with a marker on the lid of the container so you know whose left overs are whose). Agreed: this story is a nothing-burger written by some idiot who wants to pad their resume. ---
