Back when the Soviet Union collapsed and many of their State Secrets were made public for the first time, an NPR news program claimed that Oppenheimer (yes, **the** Oppenheimer) didn’t like the notion of the U.S. being the only country on Earth with the atomic bomb, and agreed to secretly help the Soviets with their own A-bomb program in exchange for $500 and a free dinner.
