Oh wow - I forgot to tell y’all! This woman (girl, really) has been over here from Angola training with my friend M from work. M only met her 1-1/2 weeks ago. So today I overhear a conversation (kinda hard not to) that the girl was asking to borrow money from M. Something about her wire transfer didn’t come through. M is not a supervisor of any kind. She was asking for - get this - $1000!!! She doesn’t even know M! So of course M said no, and told her to contact M’s boss to see about an advance. Unbelievable. Even if it is a culture thing. Sheesh! ---

I think that’s a mistaken impression on her part that all Americans are simply swimming in money. I came across that same attitude when I was in UK with my daughter about 5 years ago. They didn’t hit me up for money, but they assumed I’d pay for their admission tix to Stonehenge and Salisbury Cathedral. Since I only had enough money for the 2 of us to (barely) EAT during our trip (we were given tickets to go–this was not planned on our part), I had to tell them I couldn’t. This was the family of a pen pal Daughter had made and we stopped by to visit. Odd doesn’t cover it. ---

I’d get in line to whup TG’s ass, but clearly I’m not needed. Although I suspect if **FCM** and I joined forces to give him The Look™, he’d expire from pure fright. :eek: Love the pics of young you, **Rigs**! So were those Jordache jeans? 😃 I should have been working all evening, but I hit the wall _hard_ about 8:00, so gave up and went and sat in the recliner, with Papa Tigs next to me at his desk, and we took turns falling asleep. Such an exciting couple we are. :rolleyes: I finally woke up a bit, so I’m back to try to get a _bit_ done. I’ve slept badly for the last three nights (postnasal drip, the last remnants of this vile bug), and it really caught up with me today. So I got little work done. But I was bad in other ways, too – I went out to stick my paycheck in the bank this afternoon and stopped by my Very Expensive Local Yarn Shop, and was a bad girl, got some lovely yarn to make **snowbunny** a pair of socks. But of course I can’t start them till she GETS A FREAKING TAPE MEASURE AND MEASURES HER FOOT for me like I asked! Hint, hint, hint! It’s only two measurements, total length of your foot and circumference of the ball of your foot, but how else can I make socks that fit your weird short feet? Huh? Anyway, back to work. And try to stay awake long enough to watch the gymnastics while I work. It’s not like I need to listen to watch girls try not to fall off the balance beam! ---

My feet are not that weird! They’re one of the few parts of my body that aren’t weird! A bit wide, but nothing unusual. Sheesh. The thought of both **FCM** and **MamaTigs** giving The Look is truly awesome, and not in the “Dude! AWESOME!” way. Yikes! ---

Good for you **Haze!** I knew you were a strong person. Worked out and feel better for it; although my left knee is wonky. It’s been bothering me for a couple of weeks. Running was definitely difficult for me; I had to quit after just over a mile. Dammit, I like running too. I guess I’ll nurse it along and if I don’t see improvement, I’ll have the doc check it out. Sigh…I hate going to the doctor. **Rosie,** feel better my dear. I received a friend request for my Facebook account for someone I don’t know. I don’t recognize her picture or her name. It’s odd. The only reason I have a Facebook account is because two of my friends sent me links to their pictures on their facebook accounts. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have bothered. It’s all I can do to keep up here. ---

IT IS 2:30 AM AND I AM STILL AWAKE. Ugh, I have to be awake for work in 5 hours but am busy doing other stuff - been at Waffle House most of the night playing Monopoly. Anyone know any local sugar daddies? I’m really tired of working for right now and want to just go to school for a while. Yay, **swampy** flirted back! The sunrise is a beautiful shade of orange this morning. (And obviously I’m still not awake since I just typed evening instead of morning.) Sorry, I can’t show you the baby picture, Southern Girl is the one who is extremely paranoid about the internet. I’m feeling kind of strange this morning. Somewhere between depressed and flattened. Lord, I don’t know what brand of jeans those were–they were that weird fit that was popular back then, sort of baggy but also fitted (reverse fit isn’t the name… I can’t remember). I wonder when they will come back into fashion. They’re in a box somewhere–of course, I’m about 40 pounds heavier now, so… I am [del]to be sacrificed to the evil lawyers this morning[/del] ready for my deposition. As ready as I’ll ever be. #1 son is off to the bus (at 0645) and #2 son is up. I’m reading a murder mystery by Charlaine Harris entitled _An Ice Cold Grave_. I thought it’d be one that I could just sort of “read” and not think about, but it’s turned out to be creepy as hell. I’m of 2 minds about this: 1. it’s good to shake me up sometimes and 2. I stopped reading it last night because I was afraid I’d have nightmares! It’s not as intense as Stephen King, but there’s something about it… ---

Good morning! A friend loaned me the book _The Road_ yesterday, and I’m already halfway through it. It’s a fast read. They’re making a movie out of it, I hear. I’m not done yet, but I highly recommend it anyway. Our server is down, and I can’t do what I wanted to do this morning. mornin’. Or something. Can I go back to bed? Please? Went to dinner with some Dopers last night; it was good. We went to a BBQ place, oddly enough, I don’t like any of their three varieties of BBQ sauce. So, I got steak tips which do not come with BBQ sauce and garlic mashed N.O.T. It was the yum! As always, the conversation was superb! ahem, Message from Beebs Beebs misses us very much and assures me that he is keeping up with the MMP. He says he’ll be back, but isn’t sure when. I was having trouble with my knee a couple summers ago while rollerblading, and I picked up a knee brace and used it both for rollerblading and general workouts, and it just kept everything in line and it all got better. How’s that for a run-on sentence? :eek: 😃 Anyway, good for you **Haze**. I am not feeling like being at work today. Blurgh. I’m with **donkeybear**. Morning, everyone. We’re up, Nat’s playing with some rubbermaid containers behind me, we’re laundrifying and I’m waiting for dough to rise. Granola bread and oatmeal with wheat bran. It’s another beautiful fall day, and it’s _not supposed to rain_! Two days in a row! Anyone would think this city’d moved to the West Coast this summer, it’s been so wet. **Haze** , good for you. Imagine the nerve of him, living with his ex-GF afer proposing to you, and without telling her… would you like me to get the Husbands to kill him? They’d be happy to do it. Especially Attacks Husband. And Driving Husband. They could tie him in knots.
