Frig, I wish I could go… There’s that pesky “I’m a cripple” issue, though, which will probably prevent me from crashing with anyone, & hotel rooms cost money that I most likely won’t have. Well, I guess you can put me down for “hopefully”. ---

You know, it sounds like a great idea and all but it seems like the going out for beer thing is taking a back seat to this whole politcal adgenda. Any chance of getting that back on the table? ---

Beer before, beer after. No beer during, they have laws about that. (requires an entirely different permit.) Seriously, I hope for the usual three days of related events, as mentioned somewhere above. The three or four hours of intense political street theater should be a centerpiece. And a nice walk to work up our appetites. There are several nice restaurants within walking distance of our most likely choices of demonstration site, and we can just wander on over as we get bored with pure social activism. (It happens.) It’s looking good so far. Next week sometime, I will be phoning around to find out who and where to get permits from, and by then, we need to have achieved something somewhere close to a consensus on the best date. April has two weeks of glorious flowers, and big crowds. May has better weather and traffic. June is too late. March is probably too soon, and usually wet and cold. We already have enough interested to legally qualify as a mob! (Based solely on numbers, you understand.) Many more, and we will have to post a bond! How cool is that? If I post a bond, and one of you suckers makes me forfeit it, I will hunt you down to the ends of the earth, by the way. As soon as we have a date, I recommend getting on the horn to your duly elected representative and ask for a meeting on the specific day. Make it a big deal, about the day, since you will be traveling all the way from wherever. We need to be absolutely in the right about our right to speak. And anyone who cannot speak with his representative can sit on the sidewalk, and yell about it. Tris ---

**punha** , where exactly is this house going to be? I get the impression that it’s in SW VA, which is a long detour for **Cosmopolitan** on the way from L.I. to D.C. I, for one, will be happy to chip in $20 to a find- **Cosmopolitan** -a-hotel-room-near-DC fund, if anyone cares to organize one. (I’m not Mr. Organized, so you don’t want me in charge of it. And I’d offer to put her up chez Firefly, but it’s not exactly wheelchair-friendly.) And once we have a date set, we can check Orbitz and so forth for accessible hotels at reasonable rates. ---

Calendar note… Saturday April 19 is in the middle of Passover, so some of us won’t be able to drink beer. (Or eat restaurant food, for that matter.) Cherry blossom time, as I recall, is early April. Great idea! I did just the same thing (whirlwind tour) last summer. Stayed at a friends place near Geo. Washington U., crashed on her couch, and had a blast. I can see it now: “MAKE WAR, NOT PEACE (I NEED JOB SECURITY)” “GIVE PEAS A CHANCE!” “SAVE FERRIS!” Tripler Oh, the politicking I could do . . . ---

I think this is an amazingly wonderful idea, and I would LOVE to be a part of it; this is the kind of thing that needs to be done loud and often.
