**Taters** I donā€™t own wool socks or birkenstocks. Remember Iā€™m gay not lesbian. šŸ˜ƒ **Tuppy** I suspect itā€™s a work glitch. Anyways, some good news on that front. The decision was made to stop electronic transfers of funds and to issue checks. Department managers from outlying areas are now on their way here to pick up checks. Smiles are breaking out all over. The day has been saved! Now, I like being in charge. ---

I donā€™t. I donā€™t even own a pair of birkenstocks. I do have wool socks, but those go with my hiking boots when Iā€™m hiking or looking for chanterelle mushrooms. The stereotypical winter wear for a Seattleite: Shorts (with lotso pockets), wool socks, birkenstocks, fleece or some such pullover. Now you noticed I said ā€œstereotypicalā€ right? Everybody thinks thatā€™s what they wear. That is good news about the whole paycheck fiasco. At least your company will cut checks. Iā€™m required by law to have direct deposit. If the government were to screw up and not deposit my paycheck I would have to wait for two to three weeks to get it replaced viaā€¦you guessed itā€¦direct deposit. :rolleyes: ---

One of the pluses to being a private company is being able to do stuff like decide to cut paychecks if a direct deposit screw up happens. I still donā€™t know whoā€™s behind the screw up but if it is in our finance department, as **VunderBob** put it, a pound of butt will be extracted by the big boss. :eek: See, I did have to call her cell phone and tell her what was happening and how it was being handled lest there be like a gazillion phone calls at her house about paychecks when she gets home. Iā€™m just glad it (a) ainā€™t my fault and (b) that I wonā€™t be here Monday. **swampfest! swampfest! swampfest!** Itā€™s almost time for **swampfest!** ---

Thanks to the due diligence of the MMPers, I have **PICKED UP MY DRY CLEANING!** Now all I gotta do is remember to pack it. I shall be in Seattle this time tomorrow gettinā€™ all ready to meet **Taters** , **Bumba** and a whole bunch of other Seattle Dopers. Wander on over to the Swampbear Stalks Seattle In May thread to find out the cast of characters. It shall be fun. I bought new batteries for my digital camera even. Now, where did I put that camera? ---

Wanddya mean Iā€™ve been strangely quiet? Are you sayin Iā€™m normally a blabbermouth? Or that Iā€™m just generally strange? Oh. Okay. I was just wondering is all. Iā€™ve been really busy this morning. MIL is having surgery today (cancer) and Wife has gone down south to be with her. She (wife) will be back tonight though so that we can prepare for our trip to Seattle tomorrow am. Iā€™ve been busy trying to resolve an advertising copy snafu, and catching up on e-mails, and printing maps, and waiting on customers, etc. Only one more thing to do, I need to call the hotel and confirm our confirmation. Oh, and there was something about some dry cleaning hmmmā€¦šŸ˜• Dang! I canā€™t remember now. **Swampy** check you e-mail. Iā€™ve been meaning to ask **MagicEyes** sumpin. Why are you called **MagicEyes**? Are your eyes really magical? Do people swoon when you bat them at them? Do you carry around a little bat just for that purpose? I have packed. I remembered to pack the dry cleaning and I have April fresh drawers all packed even. Shirts, socks, shoes and ties too! The only April freshness is the drawers cause they just came out of the dryer. **Bumba** said to check my email. Reckon he has a surprise for me? You know who we havenā€™t heard from this week? **Ex**. Heā€™s disappeared on us again. And **dangergene**. Since I wonā€™t have a puter next week be sure to tell em I said hey and I miss em, ok? Oh and **Kalley** tell her I miss her too and said hey. And anybody else that wanders in, tell em I said hey. I am an equal opportunity ā€œheyer.ā€ Thatā€™s just the way I am. The cameraā€¦what about the camera? I know you found it, but is it packed somewhere? I think we were so fixated by your dry cleaning that we forgot the date. We had a very busy day at work, but no disasters that I know of. Itā€™s raining here, so Iā€™m not planting stuff. Six hours to go until **Swampfest!** Woohoo! The weather is typical for around here on weekends: itā€™s showery. Weā€™ll all indoors for the most part anway, so no biggie. The hubby and nephew went out on the boat this morning and brought the dog. The original plan was for them to return around 11:30, but I guess theyā€™re coming in now. They brought my dog along and I guess he keeps barking at the nephew and then jumping in the lake. Guess that doesnā€™t help the fishing any. I guess the dogā€™s hair is getting all over the boat too and the hubby informed my daughter heā€™s not bringing the dog anymore. :rolleyes: ā˜¹ Heā€™s a dog, he sheds, itā€™s life. Well, I need to get all cleaned up for **Swampfest.** I think weā€™re going to have a blast! ---

My home is strangely quiet. Any day now, Bailey will decompress enough to leave to security of our bedroom. Bailey doesnā€™t like having lots of people around all the time. Nope. Aerin doesnā€™t mind- sheā€™s our social kitten. I have Total yogurt, chipotle salsa, two boxes of ginersnaps, ginger chews, cocoa almonds, white cheddar chips, blueberry juice, truffle and garlic oils, chocolate covered cherries, and peanut butter cups. That ought to hold me for a bit. I have to pay off Quasi-Daughter, cause she mailed the cheque. Time for work.
