# Outlook 2007 Help: Spell Check Not Working

Spell check has quit working in Outlook on my work laptop (I’d call the help desk but they haven’t lived up to their name recently).

A couple days ago I got an error message that said something like “Spell check in Outlook is causing a delay in loading…” There was more to the message but I clicked OK before I finished comprehending it (I usually don’t click so presumptively but I was tired) but I remember a part about how clicking OK would disconnect from some thing if I’d tried to start the program a few times and was still having trouble.

I checked the spelling settings in Outlook vs. Word (where spell check stil works) and they are the same. The grammar checker still works in Outlook too.

I’ve tried a few searches on the Microsoft site, and a few other sites, but can’t find anything close.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
