I also do not get the extreme love for “Princess Bride”. Never seemed that special to me; almost my personal definition of over rated.

Pulp Fiction. I thought it was appalling, and yes, I know I am all alone. (though I did like the story about the watch.)

Pulp Fiction; I found it…well, a revolting mess of unlikeable people doing despicable things. I didn’t even like any of the one liners. I suppose it has some sort of ‘film snob’ merit for doing stylistic cinema things, but I still hated it. Like, really HATED it. It’s probably on my top five movies I enjoyed the least. (Which is in no way correlated to the much more entertaining “Top five worst movies” list.)

I know this is kind of late, but I have to add my voice here, since I thought I was the only one who hated “Pulp Fiction” this much. For me, it ranks as the single most disgusting movie I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen “I Spit on Your Grave.” And no (to all the “Pulp Fiction” lovers) I am not crazy, I honestly would rather watch “I Spit on Your Grave” again than “Pulp Fiction”, I think it’s that bad.

I don’t think this has been mentioned: I thought “Saving Private Ryan” was way over-rated. The first third (the invasion scenes) were indeed great. But then it descended into a cliche-ridden, boring, forgettable mess. Dredging up that incredibly tired old saw of the enemy they spare coming back to kill them was just unforgivable in a movie of that supposed caliber.

Gahan Wilson wrote about having seen the original 1831 Bela Lugosi Dracula on a big screen, and how efective it was. I’ve only seen it on a TV screen, and often a pretty small one, at that.
(although, to my credit, I’ve seen lots of older films on Big Screens – the silents Phantom of the Opera, Metropolis, Peter Pan, Napoleon, and many others. But not Drac.)
