What did Ozzie do for work on the show? I beleive he was a band leader in real life. ---

I think he worked at the office. A lot of TV fathers at the time worked at the office…I know Ward Cleaver did too. ---

It was originally thought that he’d have a white collar job, perhaps in advertising. However, since the show revolved around the family and not work, they never had a chance to establish what it was. ---

Why not try something interesting. Pick points for each end of yout transit, and follow as straight a line as possible between the two. Who needs roads when you have feet? ---

Nelson’s job was never stated on the show. He has been quoted as saying this was deliberate, as, when the show started on the radio, he was well-known as a traveling band leader, and it was thought that the public would not accept him in another role. In the early 1950s there was a movie called Here Comes the Nelsons, starring Ozzie and Harriet in their roles from the TV series. In that film Ozzie was an advertising copy writer. ---
