So I’m working a very dull job. It’s just temporary, since I have one lined up to start in a few weeks, but this is keeping me busy for now. But it’s so dull, my imagination is working overtime while I do it. For example, today there was a page on the company PA that went something like this: “John Smith, call line 57. John, line 57, please.” And I got to wondering who else could be paged, and what line they would pick up. For example, Maxwell Smart, call on 86. Miss September, call 36-24-36. Satan, line 666, please. Nathan Detroit, line 8 the hard way. So who else could be paged, and for what line? ---

My Wife and I overheard this at the Denver International Airport a few years ago. Bond. James Bond. Please pick up a white courtesy phone. Bond. James Bond. Please pick up a white courtesy phone. Bond. James Bond…… It was funnier because that’s the way he introduces himself. “Bond. James Bond”. It may have been a joke, but I’m sure there are plenty of guys that have the name James Bond. (007 doesn’t have a cell phone!) ---
