well, i got my raptor, and a squeegee, and paint, and goggle, and all the other stuff. Now, i am not quite sure how to use the squeegee, just stick it down the barrle? or do i have to take stuff off it and put it in the other end, there were no instructions… damn them!
AND WHY DON;T CO2 CATRIDGES COME FILLED!! BASTARDS!
You just stick the squeegee in and pull it back out. You can take off the barrel first and then pull the squeegee through one way if you really want it clean. It’ll be much easier to pull it through if you’ve actually broken a ball, because the fill is pretty viscous.
CO2 tanks can’t be shipped filled, it’s a safety hazard. Lots of gas at 750psi and an airplane don’t mix. If you’re in a hurry to just shoot a little, get a 12g adaptor and some 12g’s, the kind you’d use to make selzter water.
Now then, i was taking it apart last night, and learning stuff about it, but When i was screwing the bol back in, i pinched the o-ring, and tore a little chunk out of it. Now, will thi have any effect on the gun? I mean No air pressure goes into the bolt right? So…do i need a new o-ring?
But the o-ring wasn;t completely ripped, there was still a fair amount left, would that be good enough?
The gun uses air pressure to propel the ball. Any leaks will reduce the gun’s efficiency and possibly hamper the marker’s operation.
You should buy a whole set of O-rings from a Paintball supplier. There’s nothing worse than missing a day of play because you busted a 10 cent piece of rubber.
well, i got it checked out, and the guy said it was a not-important one, just kinda there so that you don’t get gunk from the field into the bolt, and to waterproof it kinda thing, nothing to do with the air pressure, so I was releived.
CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF BRASS EAGLE PAINTBALLS ARE GOOD OR NOT?!?!?!?
From the factory, Brass Eagle paint is pretty good. However, it then sits on K-Mart stores until someone buys it. By purchase time, the paint has probably gone out of round and dimpled considerably.
I have good luck with RPS Premium and Marballizer. I suggest that you buy some paint from other players next time you go, and see what fits your barrel’s bore.
well, the brass eagle’s fit (.68 calibre) and i will talke to some other people. How much for a case of marbilizers?!? Waht is the ideal temperature for paintballs to be stored at? Cold or warm??
Speaking of calibre, is there anything more or less then .68 for paintball guns?
Other than a few very early markers, everything on the market is 68 caliber. However, there’s some variation between brands. www.xpbs should have a barrel-paint chart that you might find useful.
Marbs are about $70 for a case of 2500. You should try and store paint at room temp. Use it as soon as possible, rotate the bag every few days to prevent dimpling, and keep them dry. When you play, it’s a good idea to bring a cooler to keep paint at a consistent temperature.
I found that if you buy paintballs from the site, they will have settled out i.e. the paint will have sepatated from the water and the ball will be imbalanced. I constantly shake my gun to keep the paint mixed thoroughly as this makes the pellet fly straighter. It at least takes one variable out of the equation.
The “About Our Products” section at http://www.rps-paintball.com/ goes into paintball ingredients and several other topics that might help you.
I’ve had good luck buying paint online. However, some online stores seem to pack it right, while you’ll get paintball soup from other distributors. Buying paint at a paintball-specialty shop is your best bet though, because they should let you check the paint for breaks before you buy.
RP Scherer Premium is high quality paint for a relatively low price. I’d expect to pay about $65 per 2500 online, and $75-$100 at a retail store. I recommend that you get a color with orange, yellow, or bright green fill, those show up very well against clothing and outdoor environs.
k, thanks. I got a bright color right now anyways. Orange.
Last night, i was shooting some stuff up in the bush, and the paint when it broke on a board i had setup, i looked at it up close and the paint was all chunky, what’s up with that?? Like it had little globs of partially mixed/frozen stuff. I don’t know what it is.
