Pakistan, al Qaeda, ISI, Taleban, etc

I have no idea what you mean, London. My own mother-in-law was a woman of exquisite sensibility, probity and charm. Sadly, she passed on after a terrible accident, falling down three flights of stairs while holding this baseball bat…

[wiping away a tear]…this is the first time anybody has said anything nice to me on SDMB…thanks pantom & LondonCalling (one of my fav. songs by the Clash, next to Washington Bullets)

Global Research, Michel Chossudovsky’s site, has some good articles too. Here is one that might curl the hair on you toes, about the FBI’s “incompetence” in investigating terrorists before 9-11:

Terrorism Financing:
FBI acknowledges 9/11 was financed out of Pakistan:

It seems to be pretty clear who financed the terrorists. Why the misdirection though? If the report really does mention Saudi Arabia, and not Pakistan, then the truth is being covered up even within the intelligence community. I would like to know the level of duplicity here - how high up the cover up really goes. Is the intelligence comittee sitting idlely by and laughing to themselves as people talk about Saudi Arabia?

That’s some stuff. While I feel confident that the facts are facts, I question some of the analysis.

Thats a great article, akrako. Pakistan is the direct link, Saudi Arabia is indirectly involved, as they did finance the mujahideen. I think the misdirection to Saudi Arabia is intentional, because once the Pakistan-ISI-CIA links start to unravel, this would be the biggest scandal in US history. 911 was an inside job, or at least an operation that backfired, the blowback to end all blowbacks. The article mentioned Al-Arian, the prof at USF who was indicted for financing terrorists. As a sidenote, here is an article and a photo about Bush and Al-Arian. Imagine if 9-11 happened on Clinton’s watch and a photo of Clinton and a terrorist financier surfaced. They would have strung him immediately.
