# Palestine's Mickey Mouse says death to America, Israel

While his girlfriend has been [working for the Chinese as “a cat with very large ears,”](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=419281&highlight=disney), the New York _Daily News_ [reports](http://www.nydailynews.com/news/wn_report/2007/05/08/2007-05-08_what_rats.html) that Mickey Mouse- or at least a poorly-built replica- has been moonlighting as Farfur, a popular Palestinian kids show host. The Palestinian Media Watch, which brought this show to light, has a [clip](http://pmw.org.il/) on its website. Farfur, who speaks Arabic in a poor imitation of Mickey’s trademark falsetto, encourages young Islamists to kill the infidels and promises victory over President Bush, Condoleeza Rice, and Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon- whom Farfur quickly adds has already died (incorrectly- Sharon is still alive, though he has been comatose for over a year). A spokesperson for Walt Disney Co. declined comment.

This is both hilarious (in a bad way, of course) and creepy. I’m reminded of Hitler- you know, if he was a giant mouse.

Perhaps my bullshit detector needs calibration, but I don’t believe for a second that that’s an accurate account of an actual kid’s show. Surely there’s something in the Koran that forbids Islamic radicalism from preaching its message through falsetto-voiced cartoon characters.
