So, how is the current insurance business way of limiting care, cancelling policies after claims or years of payments, and declaring certain life-saving treatments “experimental” so they don’t have to pay different from what Palin [del]describes[/del] makes up in the quoted piece? Even it were anywhere near true. ---

Her supporters don’t ask for anything. What’s funny is that it sounds from this like she wants the government to guarantee health coverage at any cost for seniors and children. Otherwise, WTF is she talking about? ---

What she is referring to is the practice in the UK of having a group of civil servants decide whether or not a treatment for someone is worth the money. If a treatment is expensive, and is only going to give a small amount of extra time, it will be denied. Older people (who, by and large, get less years from treatment as opposed to younger people) are disproportionately turned down (obviously), and a heavily downs syndrome baby would be of similar low priority. She is using hyperbole, but it isn’t really an inaccurate picture to paint - I think most supporters of UHC in the US (if they are honest) admit that some rationing is inevitable. ---

She’s right. Here in socialist Europe we’ve made these hard decisions and it’s great. We have no poor old people or people with Down Syndrome, we kill’em all. Or not. The sad thing is there’s literally millions that are so stupid they’ll buy this bag of bollocks wholesale and think they are fighting the good fight when they fight it. Democracy isn’t easy. If the US was a totalitarian state Obama could just have her disappeared. This shit is only starting I reckon. Wouldn’t surprise me if it ends with some nutbar killing him or blowing up a building. Rationing exists now, If 50 million don’t have access to medical coverage what the hell is that. Then go to war with your insurance carrier over a procedure and find out about rationing. Go see a specialist. I went to a doctor about a mole on my skin at my doctors recommendatiion. i waited almost 6 months for an appointment. ---
