Just a few random thoughts to add. If the government wants efficient death panels, staff them with Texans. Today’s death panels are called juries, and a death sentence seems to remarkably prolong the lives of those on death row. So perhaps we should be sentencing murderers to HMOs, and sick people to death. If Terry Schiavo was a vegetable, what exactly is meat? This question has serious implications for Sarah Palin and her retarded vagina. ---

Wrong. I am “marking myself” as someone who is tired of outrageous bullshit claims about people they don’t like. It’s just plain stupid to think that it’s OK to say anything about a political opponent just becaue they are a political opponent. Cricetus could have chose different words for the title but chose to go with an untrue statement. I think that’s bad. So I told him about it. ---

I haven’t read the last couple of pages, but in case no-one’s said it: Universal healthcare never prevents people from taking out health insurance and/or going private. It’s something that exists in addition to the existing system. It can help millions that otherwise cannot afford health care. Just maybe not all of them.
