Just look out for those death-chips and death-packs of beer.
Fair enough, though, admittedly I may be falling for stereotypes, the very, very overweight people that I know aren’t having trouble deciding between the grilled chicken salad and the soup of the day. They are deciding whether or not they have enough money for 3 Big Macs AND a milkshake, or should they just go with 4 Big Macs.
I don’t mean to offend anyone, and I have struggled with my weight at times in my life, but it seems like the people who obsess about calories are just a few pounds overweight and are only at a very modestly higher risk of illness.
If you are not defending the premise you are doing an excellent impersonation of someone who is doing so. And if you want to argue about how Mickey Mantle gets preferential treatment under the health care plan that has not even passed into law, you have access to information I don’t, and information that is likely to shock the hell out of people when it comes out.
Joe Deathpack ain’t skeered o’ nuthin’!
This thread is giving me an unquenchable craving for chips and beer.
You misunderstand me. I’m not saying this is the way it should be. I’m saying this is the way it is. There’s an organ shortage. There aren’t enough organs to go around. You cited the poor lady as an example of someone denied a transplant on financial grounds but I was pointing out that finances might not have been the primary issue - the shortage of donor kidneys might be the reason she was deemed not suitable to receive the organ she needed. That’s terrible, and my heart goes out to her and her loved ones. I wish it could be different and that’s one reason why I’m registered to be an organ donor when I die - and why I know I ought to consider live donation of a kidney before that.
All the money in the world can’t change the fact that there are fewer kidneys than there are people who need them, and that this precious resource is given to those judged most in need and the most likely to benefit as a matter of necessity.
I sure as hell wouldn’t agree that it’s fair if I was the 65 year old in need, but it’s all a matter of perspective isn’t it? If I’m the 65 year old then it’s unfair! But if some old lady was saved over my 20 year old self, then I wouldn’t find that fair either. Every life is precious to someone and in a perfect world, we’d save them all. In this one, we’ve just got to work with what we’ve got.
Which is WHY we need the death squads to roam the country killing retarded babies and Sarah Palin’s grandparents… to get us more kidneys.
If more people were waking up in bathtubs full of ice, we’d have more kidneys.
To soothe the sting or organ harvesting, I like to wake my victims up in bathtubs full of ice and chilled beer.
That brings up an interesting question…
What is the healthiest way to kill someone? I understand the most common forms of execution, electricity and lethal injection, are very bad for internal organs. And don’t get me started on firing squads, they make an absolute MESS!
Perhaps old Joe Stalin can teach us something – a single bullet to the back of the head. But we’ll do one better than Joe – our new national insurance WILL cover the cost of the bullet, so no need to bill the family for it.
Then again, beheading has a definite appeal…
Turns out the amendment in question was actually put in by a pro-life Republican.
While our present system would bill for the bullet, the administration of the bullet, and the orderly’s delivery of Patient 1. And probably double-bill Patient 1 and Patient 2.
Good for Senator Isakson.
Of course, it would turn out that the bullet was ordered from an out-of-network ammunition factory, which would therefore naturally have to send a separate bill of its own.
I think this situation really highlights the problem with hyper-partisanship. Palin is on her high horse railing against the death squads just because they’ll be Democrat death squads. What we really need is for our leaders to work together and for Palin to help Obama kill our babies and old people in the absolute most humane way possible. We need the death squads to shoot them from helicopters.
No, what we need to do is have the death squads throw them out of helicopters. Saves on ammunition, and everyone gets to ride in a helicopter at least once before they die.
If you’re the USA of course you do if the 101-year old can afford it and the 20-year old can’t.
I think you may have missed the point of this thread.
Bonus points if you hit a wolf with them.
But wait!
Now, on her facebook page, Palin has called for restraint in the discussion!

I have not figured out whether this is a better example of her rank hypocrisy or her total disconnect from reality. (Of course, I suppose that might be a false di\lemma.)
