I’d love to buy and live in an old church. It has to have a bell tower though. And bats. I’ve climbed up church bell towers before. It’s way cool. ---

I would love to know what the reaction of this thread would be if, say, Joe Biden’s church burnt down. I have a feeling there’d be a lot more RO, but that’s only a guess. ---

Well, what can one really say, at this point? If it was indeed arson, then that’s a serious crime. Fortunately, it looks like nobody got hurt. We’re all in favor of a full investigation. Speaking only for myself, I’d probably ignore the thread altogether. Plus, since 1- Biden’s church is Roman Catholic ([St. Joseph on the Brandywine](http://www.stjosephonthebrandywine.org/)) 2- is the church home of several members of the DuPont family 3- is in an area where millions of people live within a 50 hour radius and tens of millions of people within a 150 mile radius chances are the arson would never be solved as there’d be no end of suspects (usual and otherwise) and as such less interesting. Palin’s church’s arson (if it was arson) probably will be- within 150 miles there are fewer people than in a third tier city in the mainland U.S. and because she’s both the governor and internationally famous there’ll be a lot of people looking into it. Plus, Palin’s church having hosted a [witch hunter](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Muthee) though makes it a quirkier story. ---

Correction: Palin’s church is Wasilla Bible Church. She _used_ to go to Wasilla Assembly of God, the church that hosted Muthee the Vampire Slayer when she was a congregant. Wasilla Bible Church apparently hasn’t hosted witch hunters and been blessed, so is it any wonder they burned? ---

One has to “love” this line of thinking. If the hypothetical reverse situation had happened, then the other guys would probably have reacted much worse. I wonder if Palin thinks it’s terrorism. A place I used to live had a crazy person in the neighborhood setting fire to garages. Arson is frightening. ---
