Capri pants look funny (and not the good kind of funny) on 99.9% of the female population…

…what? It’s mundane, pointless and I must share it.

I disagree. They look funny on only 38.4% of the female population and 98.2% of the male.

For me, at least, it makes the girl look carrot shaped, especially if worn with ked-like minimalistic athletic shoes or converse. They’re a little better with open toed heels or flip-flops, but closed toes is a no-no.

I disagree; capri pants look wonderful on lots of women. Then there’s people like me, who don’t like long pants or shorts - I live in capris from May to September, regardless of how I look in them. Ah, the perks of aging - comfort over style.

Agreed- most people wear capri pants in the “mom” style: capris in some odd color (red, orange, salmon) with slip on Keds and some oversized shirt. I’m all for comfort, but it looks silly.

I’m all for comfort, but it ain’t exactly high fashion 🙂

Gaucho pants are also terrible (a terrible take on the capri, if you ask me) and quite popular right now. Icky.

I don’t presume to judge anyone else, but I sure as hell think they look ridiculous on _me_. I’m tall, and have spent much of my fashion life avoiding “highwaters.” Now I’m supposed to wear them on purpose? I’m afraid my psyche simply cannot cope with that.

I love them. I hate shorts, pants are too hot, and if I wear a skirt in the Florida heat I may just start a fire with my thighs. I wear them with t-shirts and flip-flops. It’s all about comfort, baby.

They only people who should be wearing capris are Laura Petrie and the Dallas Cowboys.

While I’m pretty casual when it comes to work attire, I find it unprofessional in an office setting. We’re allowed to wear jeans and sneaks, but for some reason, capri pants strike me as more beach or picnic attire. Not for me, tho - they’re too much like high water pants to suit me.

But I don’t make the rules, so I don’t lose sleep over it.

I wish I looked better in them. I’m tall and they’re not very flattering on my bod. They seem like a nice compromise between shorts and slacks for summer wear, too bad they look so crappy.

This is probably more pit-fodder than anything, but I’m well sick of the current “fashion” over here of only supplying capri-style pants in the larger size departments of stores (BigW, I’m looking at you. Asses)

My calves are big enough as it is. I don’t need a pair of pants cutting off right at the chunkiest part of my lower leg. That’s just not cricket. Thank christ I can still find full-length jeans somewhere. I like it when my cuffs hit the ground.

And I agree, they look funny on most people.

I’m 6’5"…ALL pants look like capri’s on me eventually. ☹

Course, I’m a guy too, so that doesn’t help much.

What are gaucho pants??

I used to hate capris when they were in the height of fashion the past couple of years. But now that I have lost a bunch of weight, and have moved to CA where the days are warm and the nights cool, I want to get some capris, BUT it seems they’re not in fashion anymore - I can only find a few pairs on sales racks in all the stores I go to. WTF?!

[These terrible things](http://www.opezz.com/images/jessicagauchos.jpg).

Now, you’re probably thinking, “Well those don’t look _that_ bad.” Go down to the mall in Newport Beach (that’s the O.C., ya’ll!) and you will see just how horrible that style is.

That’s cause they only look remotely not stupid on people with stick-thin legs, and most of us are a little meatier than that.

I don’t think capris look good on many people to begin with, but they look absolutely awful after the person wearing them sits down for a while. When they get up and start walking around, the pants have been crunched up behind their knees and they stick out like rumpled little fins on the backs of their legs.
