I was thinking about the sci-fi genre of alternate histories, Like what would the world be like if the Axis powers won WW2, or if Kennedy survived his assasination.

Thinking about Woodstock, I imagined what acts would’ve been
sweet, and what should’ve been chucked.

The Beatles
Elvis
The Rolling Stones
Led Zepplin
The Doors

Get rid of Country Joe and the Fish

Who would you like to have seen at Woodstock?

Hey, hang on to Country Joe. “Rockin’ Soul Music” still smokes, and “Fixin’ To Die Rag” is a cultural artifact.

But if you gotta add:

**Temptations**
**Mamas & Papas**
**Simon & Garfunkel**
**Quicksilver Messenger Service**
**Creedence Clearwater Revival**

Mmmm, such memories.

Oh, yeah, and it goes without saying that **The Beatles** would be at the absolute top of any rational person’s list, IMHO.

**Parallel Universe Woodstock** , huh? Well I was thinking that he wouldn’t be a small yellow bird at all and he wouldn’t be Snoopy’s sidekick anymore. Oh yeah, he would have to, this is funny, he’d have to…

What’s that?

Oh. Different Woodst…

Sorry, but CCR **was** at Woodstock in 69. If you want a complete list of the performers of the original Woodstock, I suggest that you get Robert Stephen Spitz’s _Barefoot in Babylon_ the story behind the creation of Woodstock.

And since it’s an alternate history Woodstock (I’ve noticed that several of the performers mentionned before where dead before the show), I would like to also go _forward_ in time and suggest a scrambled list
Bob Marley and the Wailers
Pink Floyd
Genesis (with Peter Gabriel)
Eric Clapton
The Doors

Cream - Eric Clapton

Allman Brothers Band - Duane Allman

Then maybe Duane and Eric would have met a few years before they did IRL, and we would have had more than one album (Derek and the Dominos - Layla and Other Love Songs) of these two geniuses working together.

The Stooges!

The Stooges at Woodstock!

“It’s 1969, ok.
All across the U.S.A.
Another year for me and you
Another year with nuthin’ to do.”

Definately, the Stooges at Woodstock.

And then the Velvet Underground. Yeah.

Thanks for the added info. Guess I was going by the expanded Woodstock video and assumed (silly me) that if CCR had performed, they would have been a shoe-in for the movie. Sigh. While we’re at it, let’s redo the movie and dump much of the now-dated interviews with the locals and the concertgoers. Put a couple of CCR songs in their place.
