As far as I can tell from the descriptions of the ganzfeld, the sensory overload/deprivation room involves listening to white noise to drown out hearing and wearing half-ping-pong balls on your eyes under red light to get a uniform field of vision. The sensory input is supposed to be as good as sensory deprivation, but easier/faster.
The idea is that your brain can’t get sensory input, so it is more ‘aware’ of psychic input.
When I was about 13 years old, I started having very vivid dreams of world and local events. Dreams that I would usually hear had come true the next day while listening to the Noon news in the school library. Then one night, I started to have a dream about digging a hole, and finding skeletal remains. It was so scarey it woke me up, at about 3:05 am, just in time to hear the end of the “skeletal remains found” news story, playing softly on my radio. Turns out 3:00 AM was about right in the middle of one of my usual REM stages, and the 3 AM news, was having its way with me!
Then when I was about 15, our dog took a nip at one of my cousins, and actually ripped her eye lid. They rushed her to the hospital, and about 15 minutes later, we got a call that a little chuck of her lid was missing, and that it would sure help to find it! I had a momentary flash of seeing it on the dogs chew toy, I went outside, and there it was, just as I had “envisioned” it. I then had a vision of seeing my uncle saying “thanks” and handing me $5 and my dad then taking us to get ice cream. Needless to say , thats exactly what happened. Psychic abilities…nope…In a moment of adrenelin during the dog nip, senses were hightened to the point that I took in alot of info, and actually saw the piece of lid fall onto the chew toy. As for the rest, I simply new enough of my uncle and my dads character and personalities, that it was “forcasted” immediatly. After all, we don’t call the weatherman “psychic” because he can predict the weather. Is the human mind “very” powerful, You Bet! Psychic…Probably not. Allthough I haven’t made up my mind. My guess is that if we utilised all our available brain power, it would dwarf real “psycic” power anyway.
Umm, I’m afraid not, at least not with roulette or blackjack.
With the roulette table, the presence of the ‘0’ and ‘00’ gives the house about a 6% advantage on all bets, so your 2% edge would only reduce the house advantage to 4%.
Bossbuster, why is it that we always hear about these amazing predictions after the fact? I’ll tell you what, true believers: You post your amazing predictions before the fact, be as accurate as possible(no claiming that there will be unease in the mideast, folks!), and we’ll keep track of the accuracy.
The event must happen within a certain time period-no claiming that your prediction is correct, but unrealized.
The event must be on the PHYSICAL level-no claiming that such-and-such happened on a spiritual level where it cannot be observed.
No symbolic predictions-“When I dreamed that your house was destroyed, it really meant that the government in Pakistan was unstable.”
If you bring in predictions from “Pro” psychics, only bring specific ones BEFORE the fact. Listing 50 predictions and claiming success if anything comes true is bogus.
Any takers?
Eagles may soar free and proud, but weasels never get sucked into jet engines.
Read it and understood it. I agree with Bossbuster and was sympathizing with him, not grouping him with the “true believers”.
No, the true believers are people like Krispy, people who think FATE magazine and Art Bell are valid sources of information.
Eagles may soar free and proud, but weasels never get sucked into jet engines.
I too thought slythe was giving bossbuster a hard time.
But I have to say, if I suddenly develop the ability to predict the future, I’m not posting anything here. Check your local papers for my upcoming big lottery win. When I get my house in the Caymen Islands you’re all invited over.
