My parents are in their 80’s, and my mother’s getting increasingly ga-ga (serious memory loss, though she still recognizes us & can carry on a limited conversation). So we’re visiting their apartment & there in bed with the door open, and I hear her say to my father: “Can I touch your dong?” –and we’re not [Vietnamese](http://www.eslfocus.com/Conversions/usavtn.html) 😛 So is it cute or disgusting? ---

You think THATS bad? My room shares a wall with my mother and her husbands room… and they have a creaky bed… which has wheels and rolls around… I don’t hang anything up on my walls for fear of them falling down. WHen I wake up and hear them going at it, the whole gag-reflex thing kicks in. ---

I _wish_ my parents still loved each other enough to show affection. ☹ A kiss or a hug would be great. Having sex with each other would be brilliant. Old people expressing their love to one another is _not_ disgusting. OTOH, I don’t want to hear it, see it or know any details. But that goes for most people anyway, not just old ones. ---

One of my colleagues a while back had a patient (late 70s, I think) who was a long-term nursing home resident. She got a routine urinalysis on her, and it came up positive for trichomonas. She was very cautious about bringing it up–how do you have the safe sex talk with an 80-year-old?–but it apparently wasn’t a very big surprise. “Yeah,” she said, “I guess I should be more careful.” Disturbing, but if it livens up the otherwise bleak nursing home existence, more power to them. (Maybe we should put condom machines in the bathrooms next to their sharps containers.) Dr. J ---

And yes, people are welcome to express disgust and displeasure at the notion of me having old people sex when I am an old people. Hopefully, by that point, I’d be smart enough to not give a crap what people think of my sex life. ---

I think the concept is really great. I would hope that if I were married for a long time, that I would still be in love with my wife. But, the image old people getting it on isn’t exactly my cup of tea. ---
