**nearwildheaven** as those in the medical board pointed out, some of what your old pastor is doing is just vectoring Urban Legends about sex (e.g. the not knowing that unprotected coitus to completion is the way to impregnate – for most of my life that used to be told about rural or old-country innocents, now is told about kids who allegedly only know sex from porn) and boilerplate antiporn propaganda. I’d be likelier to believe the medical professionals than the pastor when it comes to what is turning up at the ER.

Which is not to say that we may not have a large number of people growing up thinking that actual sex is supposed to look/sound like porn, which would be sort of growing up thinking actual national security work has to look/sound like Action flicks, except that you do get professional training at the police/CIA/military to make you understand it’s not like the movies. You often have to wing it with sex.

Even if the pastor is correct, this would hardly be a new phenomenon. Women have been removing pubic hair for ages (I’ve heard that prostitutes often did this because it was supposed to keep them from acquiring pubic lice from their customers). The artist and art critic John Ruskin is supposed to have been unable to have sex with his newly-married wife, Effie, because he was shocked to discover that she - unlike the artists’ models he’d seen - had pubic hair.

I can understand never having seen a, ahem, full bush before, but not knowing nowadays that it grows naturally? Gee whiz, I thought most people knew by the time they were about 10 or 12 years old that this happens to both sexes.

Oh, God. Don’t do that. Don’t make another “amateur” porn hipster. They’re the equivalent of the jerks who brag about “only reading non-fiction” or “only watching documentaries”.
