Look at it this way. Paris repeatedly blows off all aspects of her potential punishment and attempts at getting her to obey the same rules that apply to everyone else. She never took any of it seriously. She didn’t have to. The rules don’t apply to her. So she ignores court orders and nothing happens. Her life of partying and having money thrown at her for nothing continue unabated. Then some kind of real punishment comes down the pike. She still doesn’t take it seriously. She doesn’t comply with court orders. She laughs it off in the media and continues her normal style. The whole bits about a petition to free her, her allegedly trying to get the Governator to pardon her, the whole bit. Just shows that she never took ANY of it seriously. Then one day, she actually has to go to jail. Wow. That isn’t allowed for her type, you know. She’s above us mere mortals. This is “unfair”. So she has a Britney-esque breakdown in jail. Sucks off the Sheriff…er, I mean has some kind of unspecified “mental or medical deterioration” that requires them to free her so that she can go home and continue partying. Wow. That’s really UNCOOL, eh? Shames her in front of her “cool” friends and completely removes her teflon coating. Now she’s “out” with the cool crowd. Just how the hell is she supposed to continue the life of partying and collecting unwarranted cash now? The only path left for her is to try to be “serious”, the antipathis of what she’s been all her life. ---

I just keep thinking ‘what are we all doing talking about Paris Hilton’?! This is making headline news for gods sake! She is the poster child for someone who has never had boundaries or consequences for their behaviour. I propose that those Nanny 911 programmes et al use Paris as an example of what kind of adults children will turn in to if the parents don’t give their children consequences. ---

Y’know, y’know… Similar to how some addicts can give up drugs/drink/etc. only to become equally obsessed with whatever they latch on to (religion/excercise/etc.) to replace the original destructive addiction, I am kinda worried about what Paris will turn into when this is all done. She starts out as “Attention Whore Party Girl”, does she turn into “Attention Whore Recovering Party Girl”, or “Attention Whore Civil Rights Activist”? {{{shudder}}} ---
