Folk song parodies can happen anywhere! For my Physician Assistant’s recent retirement after working 33 years here, I composed a folk song parody about his life and career. It was sung to the tune of “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald”. “And meanwhile at work, our PA never did shirk Nor give out a low bunk un-needed It was rarely he’d stray from the true prison way Or approve a paraplegic for boxing! They might want more socks or they might want fresh shorts They might refuse food, nor take water To their wants he’d not accede, but he’d always serve their need Just like a true PA in prison really oughter!” It was amusing watching the Warden belt out the tune along with the rest of us. I’ll spare you the other 6 stanzas . . . ---
