# Parquet wood tiles

The previous owner completely botched the ceramic tiles. I’ve spent the last two weekends getting them, and the ruined underlayment, up. Since I already have oak planking in the adjacent dining room, I’ve decided on parquet wood tiles that would compliment and not clash with the oak. What I don’t want is the Home Despot finger-patterned special. Prefinished is a must; I’m open to any woods; and I probably wouldn’t spend more than US$5/sq.ft.

Has anyone put in a parquet floor that they would recommend? What woods and patterns did you use?
