Let me clarify: I said, “Well, ew.” because Ms. McMahon voluntarily entered into a sexual relationship with her father. I realized that she didn’t meet her father until she was an adult as I watched the videotaped depositions. The key element to me was that both were aware that they were father/daughter at the time they entered a sexual relationship. Let me repeat: Well, ew. FTR, I have no hang-ups over gays or over May/December romances. But I DO think that incest is squicky whether it is between father/daughter, grandfather/grandson, sister/brother, etc. And if you are so enlightened that it doesn’t squick you out, then may I remain in the dark. ---

That’s assuming that there’s not already a history of genetic illness in the family. ---

When Michael Jackson married Lisa-Marie Presley I am sure I wasn’t the only human that thought “ewww!”, however that does not mean that I am against marriage in general, nor am I against heterosexual or interracial marriage in particular\*. One has a right to be ewwed-out by anything and still not think it should be illegal. Methink Bricker just got himself a new straw-action figure and wanted to play with it. 😉 ---

And if I remember correctly from my studies of ancient Egyptian culture, even though the kings married their sisters or half-sisters, in practice there was a lot of concubinage, so many surviving children were not the products of the prime union. Marrying your sister was something you did ceremonially but it wasn’t expected that only her children would take the throne.
