Now I’m crying, feeling sorry for myself. This is a stupid thing to happen. Stupid for him; stupid for me. Now I gotta start over. Again. Again-again, I’ve done the “start over” crap so many times. I hate this part. ---

Lunch was fine, but I-495 was predictable — luckily, just volume and no accidents. But there was a lot of unusual volume on I-95, too, so both drives took longer than they should have. Still, I was back home at around 4:30pm, which wasn’t bad. Then it was laundry time: in the past few hours the “normal” stuff has been washed + dried + put away, the two “delicate” sweaters are drying on racks, and the “doggy laundry” (waterproof pads that protect the living room rug at night/while I’m out) is currently in the dryer. I will leave them in there overnight. The washer finally gets a chance to dry out: there’s usually some doggy laundry in it, because most days I wash one set of pads while drying another, but I get caught up on laundry days. Now I’m watching the Yankees game, and keeping my fingers crossed both that we win and that the game doesn’t go into extra innings (so I can go to bed at a decent time)…it’s about to be the top of the 7th and we have a 2-run lead, but that isn’t much… 🤞 > [@Sunny\_Daze](#): > > Isn’t this just called “work” here in the US? I think that’s what made me “give up” after my last relationship mumble mumble years ago: I just couldn’t seem to come up with the energy to start over _yet again_. I expect that part to get old super quick once more, if I ever follow through on this dating site profile thing. ---

Out of 5 matches, one was an ex-brother-in-law and another was a home health client of mine. Yikes, if I had wanted to fool around with either of them I had had 35 years of chances. Cancelled my profile and never again got even close to putting myself out there again. Nope, cats are more reliable and better company. ---

So grateful for my kids. Son and DIL out-logiced me, so I’ll stay with them for Halloween surgery. (If I hear, “I was working in the lab late one night” as I’m getting wheeled to the OR, I’m bolting.) My daughter thanked me for shielding her from her dad and working so hard to give her a happy childhood. I can’t tell you how much that means to me. OK, that’s more personal than Mumperland allows, so onto other stuff. The cupcakes are made and frosted, two loads of laundry got laundered, plants were watered and–due to advice here–washed, and I killed two spiders. I never kill spiders, but these have taken over my balcony, with webs _everywhere_. I didn’t swat them; I just assisted them toward the ground…uh, not too gently. Hopefully they take up residence elsewhere. **shoe** , I’m so sorry Gentleman Caller turned out to be neither a gentleman nor a caller. What an idiot. When I did OLD, I thought of the pool as breakfast cereal: nuts and flakes. I did have one good relationship. but man, there are some weirdos out there.
