I heard about this last night and i was sickened by the level of hate in this pastor’s voice. The protester who attended the town hall with the AR 15 goes to this guys church, i wish i had the words to say more but words fail me. First, I was going to be all: fuck yeah! Tell us you fucking dick! Then I was all: well, maybe there’s something hilarious/worthwhile/interesting/entertaining on this video link, and really, I shouldn’t discount his opinion offhandedly. Then I clicked on the link and say that the motherfucker was ten goddamn minutes long and the first few have already been wasted with a huge fucking logo with some masturbatory acronym and I was all: TL;DR. ---

Here’s what I saw on Digg earlier: [Pastor Of Gun-Toter At Obama Event Prayed For Obama To Die](http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com/2009/08/pastor_of_gun-toter_at_obama_event_day_before_even.php) The guy who went to that Obama event carrying firearms went to a sermon the day before. The sermon was titled ‘Why I Hate Barack Obama’ and in it, the pastor said that he didn’t obey Obama and hoped he melted like a snail. When you pour salt on them, they melt…well, I don’t know exactly what chemical reaction takes place, but they do dissolve into goo slowly. Either that or the pastor is a big fan of French cuisine and escargot. ---

The pastor was using some passage in the bible that talked about pouring salt on a snail, and then said that the passage is actually talking about abortion, because the doctor uses a salty solution to melt the baby. So he was saying that he wants to pour salt on Obama so he can melt like a snail, since Obama performs so many abortions. Made perfect sense to me. :rolleyes: ---

I’ve done a moderate amount of dabbling, Bible-wise, but don’t recall anything about snails at all, much less salting them. Perhaps it was a later addition from the Catholic Church? Yes, that’s it, its a Pope Urban legend! ---

It’s so nice to know that the pastor also has some doubts about warfare. Or something. It only came at the tail end after his insane death threats and ‘save the babies’ crap. That’s it, I guess, how abortion access turns people into nutters. They need something pure and good and true, and they know they won’t find it in living people, not even (especially?) their religious leaders. ---

It would be an interesting image if a snail’s slime trail actually diminished it until it was gone. You’d end up with a lot of empty snail shells blowing in the wind. The only safe snail would be an immobile snail. Of course, then it would starve. Poor snails. ---
