In a town where there are a million neighborhood bars and family-friendly bar and grills, Sky Bar (the bar this guy owns and where Patrick Kane was that night) is one of very few real nightclubs, like what would pass for a nightclub in a more cosmopolitan place. I think Croce is doing damage control so that his bar doesn’t come across as a date rape bar – it already has a bit of a reputation as a sleezy hook-up place – and is hedging his bets that Kane gets off the hook and continues to patronize Sky Bar in the future (and I feel as more information has been coming out, that particular bet is looking dumber and dumber). Regardless of Croce’s motives, his comments didn’t have any business being included in the local news coverage of the rape allegations. ---

I suggest she was advised by someone who knows how to falsify rape claims. No one is doubting that sex occurred so why need a ‘rape kit?’ Aspiring actress and model sounds like an unemployed college dropout using her looks to get what she wants. If she’s truly looking for justice and not 1-2 million dollars, I think she’d be happy to go to trial. ---
