I loved him as an actor, but I’ll miss what he did outside acting even more. He was such a funny and genuinely kind person. ---

There was a project to get “Transmetropolitan” made into some series or something… And yes, Patrick Stewart was being floated as the actor to play Spider Jerusalem. And Patrick Stewart himself wanted! He loved the comic and loved that character. I am absolutely certain that, had they made that series, he would have been MAGNIFICENT in that role! ---

I’m not usually easily upset by celebrity deaths, but yeah, this one hurts. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without Captain Picard, and Picard never would’ve been Picard if not for Stewart. ---

Yeah this sucks. I’ve always been more a Star Wars nerd than a Trekkie, but in college I got hooked on TNG. It came on every night at midnight on some cable channel, and I watched it religiously before bed. It was his portrayal of Picard that drew me on and got me hooked. ---
