Florence Nightingale was actually born in Florence, Italy. Her sister Parthenope was born in Naples (_Parthenope_ is Greek for _Naples_.) Tex Avery is from Texas (though I don’t think _Tex_ is his real first name.) Winona Ryder is from Winona, Minnesota. Virginia Dare, the first white child born in English America, was named after Virginia, where she lived. Kobe Bryant is not from Kobe, Japan, but is named after the famous Kobe beef, which his parents saw on a restaurant menu! Dakota Fanning is from Georgia, and her real name is Hannah (not Savannah.) ---
